Here are 15 key phrases that you can use in your OET writing to help you with the following things that you might have to write about when summarising the case notes:

  • presenting features

  • reporting diagnosis and investigations

  • indicating treatment and management

  • reporting compliance and risks

  • making discharges or give follow up information

Remember, there are no 'set phrases' and it's really important you don't just memorise expressions and stick them in where you think you can. Each case is different and you must respond to the case in front of you or else you'll lose points. However, these are a good bank that can help you in the formation of your letter and help you score well.

Once we've gone through the bank of expressions, I'll also give you a mini-test at the end to see how you're going!
